Bali Komodo

The highlight of this sail is a visit to the Komodo island to see the old pre-historic dragon Komodo. A 3 to 7 nights sail is recommended to overnight in several anchorages.

There are several anchorages we can visit during this trips &ndash each of which offers different experiences, from culture wonders to surfing fun.

Padangbali, Bali
A small harbor town in the eastern-south of Bali serving as ferry port to travel to Lombok and other part of Lesser Sunda islands as well as eastern Indonesia. The nearby beach is beautiful and not crwoded. Other interestig beaches are Amubk Bay &ndash where Odyssey Submarine dives to see the underwater wonders; Blue Lagoon with its nice shallow reefs with amazing fishes perfect for dive photography; and Secret Beach just to the south of the town.

Lombok
Separated by Bali Strait, this island is mountainous and verdant with tall trees and shrubs covering the land in the north, arid with savannas in the south. It has white virgin beaches and a few of surfing spots. Let say Senggigi Beach, Kuta Beach or Dessert Point. Furthermore, there are quite many good dive sites in the island. And apart of that, Lombok also has an age-old culture and is now being developed as a tourist destination. Lombok is Bali 20 years ago.

• Senggigi
  Is the most developed are for tourists in Lombok where you can find a variety of restaurants, bars, travel agents, accommodations and other modern facilities. The town has about 10kms coastal road which brings you to the port for Gili islands.
• Three Gilis (islands)
  Situated in the north-west coast of Lombok and are surrounded by coral. This attractive islands are fast becoming popular tourist destinations with all high-tech dive equipment and pro instructors. The waters have more varieties of fish than anywhere in the world.
  • Gili Air
    Is the most populated island compared to the other Gilis. While enjoying marine experience, you can also get to know about interesting local culture.
  • Gili Trawangan
    Appears to be the most popular island. With dive operators, restaurants and hotels in the foreshore, the island has long been called as "party island".
  • Gili Nanggu
    This island has beautiful beaches and clear water.
• Gili Gede
  A small island off the southwest coast of Mataram with a Sasak traditional village. This "Secret Island" has a lot of stories to tell &ndash from Pirate legend to Sufi mystery. Supported with the beautiful surroundings and undisturbed nature, Nomad has just soft opened its island resort offering restaurant and accommodation for nearby resorts' visitors as well as Nomad's guests.
• Gili Lawang, Sulat and Petangan
  Lie in the northeast of Lombok and are interesting island for diving. Although no dive operators in here, but some operators in Senggigi offer trips here. The sea around these white sandy jewels are home to an amazing array of colorful marine life, making it ideal place to swim and snorkel.
• Desert Point
  Also known locally as Bango-Bangko, it has established itself as a top surfing point. This lefthander has a fast inside section with a shifty take-off area, it barrels and walls along the reef. It tends to start off smaller and then increase in size and speed as it winds down the point. It is tide sensitive and can go from 2 feet slop at high tide to 4-6 feet and barelling as the tide drops. This wave is definitely for experts only.

Tanjung Ringget & Japanese Hidden Caves
Is located on the SW corner of 'Tanjung Ringget ' peninsula. It is just inside the open Indian Ocean and a excellent flat anchorage . Here there are magnifcent beachs for combing and fishing/Pearl farms. Plus the Japanese Army solders hide here for many years after the war was over. Perhaps they knew it was over and just wanted a tranquil life. Maybe you can be the judge of that.

Pajang Island
Panjang Island provides a very protected and Isolated anchorage with small atolls nearby to enjoy a late afternoon walk and barbeque on your way to either NE destinations or SW circle Lombok destinations.

Fishing Village Island
This is a excellent overnight stop, with friendly fisherman who will be glad to sell us fish for a very reasonable price.

Moyo Island
This a large Island and nature preserve with one high-class hotel. It is possible to hire a guide and take a interior tour of the preserve where you will find several rare species of animals and many deer.
